Shooting at Kansas City’s Swope Park Sunday night leaves multiple people injured

Kansas City Police are investigating a Sunday night shooting at Swope Park where multiple people were injured.

Officers were dispatched about 8:30 p.m. to the park in the 3900 block of Swope Parkway and East Meyer Boulevard on a shooting call.

“While they were en route to the scene, five victims arrived at a nearby hospital,” Capt. David Jackson, a KC police spokesman, said in an email. “Another victim drove home and called police from their residence.”

Officers found a large crime scene and located multiple witnesses to the shooting.

All of the injuries are described as non-life threatening. No arrests have been made.

The investigation continues.
