Man killed in Saturday night shooting in Kansas City near Wyandotte Avenue, police say

Kansas City police are investigating a homicide after a man was found fatally shot late Saturday in the 3900 block of Wyandotte Avenue.

Officers responded to the shooting just after 10 p.m. Arriving officers found the victim in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later, Capt. Dave Jackson, a police spokesman said in an email.

Witnesses told investigators they heard several gunshots but were unable to provide them a description of the shooter, Jackson said.

The name and age of the victim have not been released. Details of what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
