Have you seen this truck? Overland Park police search for fatal hit-and-run suspect

Overland Park police are searching for a pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead late Wednesday.

Police were called to the crash scene just after 10 p.m. Wednesday near West 77th Terrace and Metcalf Avenue, according to a news release from the Overland Park Police Department.

There, officials learned the driver of a pickup truck struck a pedestrian as she was crossing in the middle of the street.

The victim, a 63-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital, police said. She died from her injuries a short time later.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck that struck her continued north without stopping at the scene.

Officials described the suspect vehicle as a possibly gray or silver “lighter colored” GMC or crew cab pickup with a dark cover over its truck bed.

The truck is also missing a driver’s side mirror, which police recovered at the scene.
