Two killed, including a teen, in separate Monday afternoon shootings in Kansas City
Kansas City police were investigating two shootings Monday afternoon that killed two people, including a teenager, a police spokeswoman said.
Police responded to the first shooting shortly before 1:15 p.m. at 31st Street and Broadway. A teen had been taken to a hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead, said Officer Doaa El-Ashkar, a spokeswoman for Kansas City police, in an email.
Police said it was unknown where and when the teen had been shot. Other circumstances surrounding the shooting were also unknown, El-Ashkar said.
Police responded to the second shooting just before 2 p.m. at 12th Street and Brooklyn Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an adult victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, El-Ashkar said.
Anyone with information about either homicide is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
