Police investigate shooting at Raytown home Thursday afternoon; Woman reported shot

Raytown police were investigating a reported shooting that left a woman injured Thursday afternoon.

Police officers were called to investigate the shooting just before 4:30 p.m. at a home in the 7900 block of Evanston Avenue. It was reported that a man shot the victim.

The man was not in the area by the time officers arrived, and no arrests have been announced.

Capt. Dyon Harper, a Raytown police spokesman, said in a news release that the woman was taken to a hospital. By Friday morning, Harper said the victim was in serious but stable condition.

The investigation was ongoing.
