Teen shot in foot during KC home burglary
A Kansas City teenager was shot in the foot during an attempted home burglary Wednesday morning.
The teen and a companion were skipping classes at Northeast High School just before 10 a.m. Wednesday when they allegedly tried to break into a house in the 5000 block of Thompson Avenue, according to police.
The homeowner interrupted the burglary and fired shots at the two suspects, who were both later taken into custody. The injured teen was taken to a hospital for treatment his injury. Detectives are continuing to investigate.
