Man found with gunshot wound Friday afternoon in Olathe. Police looking for suspect

Olathe police were investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound near some office buildings Friday afternoon.

According to a news release from police, officers were called to the 800 block of North Meadowbrook Drive about 2:44 p.m. to investigate a report of an aggravated battery.

Police located a 49-year-old man, who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The victim was found near a parole office of the Kansas Department of Corrections, which is located at 804 North Meadowbrook Drive. In an email Friday evening, Sgt. Joel Yeldell, an Olathe police spokesman, said he did not have any information linking the victim to that specific location.

Police were looking for one suspect, who was described as an adult, white male driving a black Dodge Challenger. Another person, described as an adult, white female, was also in the car, police added.

The investigation was ongoing.
