Leawood police dispatcher arrested on charges of sharing confidential information

A dispatcher with the Leawood Police Department has been accused of sharing confidential information and is charged with computer crimes and official misconduct, according to Kansas law enforcement officials.

Kallie R. Turnbow, 39, of Olathe, was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Johnson County jail.

The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office charged Turnbow with four felony counts of unlawful acts concerning computers and four misdemeanor counts of official misconduct.

In October 2019, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation began investigating Turnbow after receiving a tip suggesting that she was unlawfully sharing criminal history and driver’s license information, the agency said in a news release.

Turnbow allegedly disseminated confidential information from the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System to unauthorized individuals, the KBI said.

The crimes are thought to have occurred between July 2018 and October 2019 while Turnbow was working as a dispatcher.

She was placed on administrative leave in October 2019.

Defense attorney Michael Duma said Wednesday that he had no comment on the case.
