Driver killed in semi collision on Interstate 670 identified
One person died Monday evening on Interstate 670 after rear-ending a semi truck that had stopped for traffic.
James Harry Williams, 69, crashed into the Freightliner semi around 6:30 p.m. Monday on eastbound I-670, west of Genessee Street, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Williams, of Blue Springs, was not wearing a seat belt.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the driver of the semi had a suspected minor injury.
The crash closed eastbound I-670 for several hours, according to Kansas City Scout.
