Pedestrian struck and killed on Independence Avenue Friday night, KC police say
Kansas City police were investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night on Independence Avenue.
The call for the crash came in around 7:45 p.m. Police said it happened on the north side of Independence Avenue near Elmwood Avenue.
According to police, a westbound vehicle hit a male pedestrian and left the scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name and age have not been released.
No information was available on the vehicle or the driver.
The investigation was ongoing late Friday night.
