Reward grows to $7,500 in slaying of 3-year-old KC boy

A reward for information in the fatal shooting of a sleeping 3-year-old Kansas City boy has increased to $7,500, authorities announced Wednesday.

An anonymous donor recently added $5,000 to the fund set up to help identify who killed Amorian S.L. Hale, who was buried Monday in a small white casket.

A bullet fired from a passing vehicle sliced into his family’s house and hit him in the head May 31 as he slept in his bedroom in the 6700 block of Walrond Avenue.

Nearly 40 anonymous tips have been received by the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline since the killing, officials said Wednesday. Detectives are continuing to pursue leads, they said.

Police ask anyone with information in the case to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
