Independence man shot in encounter with prowlers
An Independence man was shot in the leg early Wednesday after encountering prowlers outside of his home.
Police said the shooting occurred about 2:15 a.m. in the 1700 block of South James Downey Road. The man’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Police said they are looking for a dark green Chevrolet Camaro convertible in connection with the incident. The car was believed to be a 2000 model with gray primer paint on its right front passenger fender.
