Nanny cam video helps police arrest suspect in Overland Park robbery
A Prairie Village woman has been charged in an Overland Park robbery captured on the victim’s home “nanny cam.”
Overland Park police arrested Cheyenne Marie Watts on Friday on a warrant charging her with robbery of the 21-year-old victim May 12. In a separate warrant, she was charged with attempting to use the robbery victim’s stolen identity about two weeks after the robbery.
Watts, 20, and two men still sought by police allegedly stole tools, money and the woman’s purse. The victim provided police with video of the robbery, during which one man held her in a choke hold.
Watts also is charged with two counts of identity theft for possessing the robbery victim’s driver’s license and Social Security card May 29 in Shawnee.
She made her first appearance on the charges Monday afternoon in Johnson County District Court.
