Police investigate double homicide after two are found dead at Kansas City home

Kansas City police investigated a double homicide Monday at a home on the 3500 block of Norton Avenue.

Officers were sent to the home to conduct a welfare check about 2:20 p.m. They found two people, a man and a woman, shot and killed inside the house.

Within an hour, dozens of friends and family of one of the victims, 32-year-old Michael Scott, were on hand mourning their loved one.

Police on Tuesday identified the woman as Ja’Sean C. Rice, 21.
