After fatal shooting in Belton, police search for gray sedan seen leaving the area

Police responding to reports of a shooting found a body in the front yard of a home in Belton early Monday.

Dispatchers received a call about 2 a.m. Monday about the shooting in the 200 block of Manor Drive.

Arriving officers found the unresponsive body of a male victim. Emergency medical workers confirmed that the victim was dead.

A witness in the area told police that a gray sedan left the area shortly after the shots were fired.

Police were withholding the name of the victim until he could be identified and his family could be notified.
