A man who died Wednesday after Kansas City, Kan., police subdued him with a stun gun was identified Thursday as 34-year-old Randall C. Torrence.

Torrence, of Kansas City, Kan., died at a hospital Wednesday night, and police said they were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

Police officers were flagged down about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Quindaro Boulevard because of a man who witnesses said was acting in a bizarre manner.

An ambulance crew was called to provide medical help when the man became “combative,” according to police. An officer then used a stun gun on him before he was taken to a hospital.
