Bank robbed in Shawnee

A Commerce Bank branch in Shawnee was robbed Wednesday morning.

No one was injured in the hold-up reported about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 11000 block of Shawnee Mission Parkway.

According to the FBI, a man walked into the bank, threatened to shoot an employee and demanded money. He did not show a weapon before taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police described the robber as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s. He was 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 180 to 190 pounds. He wore a black ball cap, sunglasses and a navy blue windbreaker.
