Man is shot multiple times during alleged marijuana robbery attempt in the Northland
A 26-year-old Kansas City man was shot multiple times Wednesday night as he allegedly tried to rob a drug dealer in the Northland.
The man suffered five bullet wounds to the legs and was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.
Police were called to a house in the 3500 block of Northeast 53rd Street after witnesses reported hearing shots and seeing two men struggling in the yard.
Those men were gone when police arrived, but officers found blood in the yard and a trail of what appeared to be marijuana leading from the house.
A few minutes later, the man who had been shot arrived at a hospital by private vehicle. A person with the injured man told officers the man had been shot while trying to rob another person of marijuana, police said.
