Escaped rape suspect arrested by U.S. marshals in Independence
An escaped Arkansas rape suspect was arrested Tuesday in Independence by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Anael Castro-Hernandez, 30, escaped on Aug. 25 by jumping from a van while being transported to a court hearing in Little Rock.
Deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service in Kansas City, Kan., had tracked Castro-Hernandez to that city and on Tuesday arrested him in Independence where he had gone to a job site, a marshals service spokesman said.
Castro-Hernandez is accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and two teenage girls in Arkansas.
