Sex offender accused of watching child porn on library computer in Overland Park

A registered sex offender has been charged after he was accused last year of watching child pornography on a public library computer in Overland Park.

Robert David Dwork, 50, is scheduled to make an initial appearance Thursday afternoon in Johnson County District Court, where he is charged with a felony count of sexual exploitation of a child.

The charge stems from an April 2017 incident at the Johnson County Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th St.

According to court documents, witnesses told police that Dwork was viewing images of naked children.

Dwork had a computer flash drive, which was searched by investigators. It allegedly contained 3,800 images, including a mix of adult pornography, child pornography and child erotica, according to court documents.

He has two prior convictions involving child sex crimes, according to court records.

Dwork was on parole at the time and was returned to prison for a parole violation. He was returned to Johnson County on Wednesday to face the new charge.
