Double shooting Saturday in Merriam investigated with ‘limited’ info from victims
As an investigation continues into a double shooting Saturday in Merriam, police have received only limited cooperation from two victims and are relying largely on physical evidence.
“We are still working to get a clear picture of the events last night at the King’s Cove apartment complex,” Merriam Police Capt. Troy Duvanel said in an email Sunday.
Investigators are examining shell casings, blood evidence and other information, Duvanel said. Police have no suspect in custody.
Two men, ages 18 and 24 years old, were injured in the shooting about 8 p.m. in the 7300 block of King’s Cove Drive. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police said Saturday they had located a person who had reportedly run from the scene.
“Cooperation from both victims is limited at this time,” Duvanel said. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Criminalistics Laboratory helped in the investigation, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline, 816-474-TIPS (8477).
