Officer fires shots while trying to arrest a man, KC police say
A Kansas City police officer fired shots late Thursday while trying to arrest a wanted man, police said in a statement.
The incident happened in the 1300 block of East 66th Terrace around 9:15 p.m.
Darin Snapp, a police spokesman, said officers went to a home in regard to a man wanted on a felony warrant and numerous city warrants.
Police said the responding officers saw the man run away. While attempting to arrest him, police said an officer discharged his weapon. It’s unclear how many shots were fired.
No injuries were reported.
The man was taken into custody a short time later.
No further details were released late Thursday night.
