Police ask for help identifying three persons of interest in Oak Park Mall shooting
The Overland Park police department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three men considered to be persons of interest in the Oct. 26 shooting a the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.
Police released the photos of the men Monday afternoon, three days after the armed disturbance sent shock waves through shoppers and mall workers at the popular shopping mall.
The photos show three black men who appear to be in their 20s, in what looks like a food court.
Spokesman John Lacy told The Star on Friday that the shooting had taken place outside the doors to the mall’s food court and that police were looking for an African-American male driving a red pickup.
Police believe at least one or possibly two people had been hit during the shooting after finding blood stains near a bathroom inside the mall, but have not been able to identify any victims or suspects.
Police are asking anyone with information on the men’s identities to please call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
