Man in skeleton mask, carrying sawed-off shotgun arrested walking in traffic in KC

A man wearing a skeleton mask and allegedly carrying a sawed-off shotgun startled motorists along a Kansas City, North, roadway before he was arrested and charged with a federal gun crime.

Daniel A. Robertson was stopped by Kansas City police Sunday morning after a driver reported that Robertson walked toward her car and she almost hit him near Missouri 152 and North Indiana Avenue, according to federal court documents.

Police found Robertson, 53, walking nearby. He was allegedly carrying a loaded 12-gauge shotgun with a sawed-off barrel under his jacket, and several shotgun shells in his pockets.

He told police that he had found the guns in the woods shortly before he was arrested, according to the documents filed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, where Robertson was charged Monday with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Robertson has several felony convictions, including burglary and drug possession. He is also listed on the Missouri sex offender registry for a child molestation conviction.
