Man dressed in orange skirt, brown wig holds up Raytown bank

Federal authorities on Monday were investigating the robbery of a Raytown bank during which a man dressed as a woman fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery occurred just after 2 p.m. at the UMB branch in the 6200 block of Raytown Road, an FBI spokeswoman said.

The robber approached a teller and placed a large, orange and coral colored purse on the counter and demanded money. No weapon was brandished, according to authorities.

He was described as an African-American male about 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds wearing a brown wig with blond highlights, gold-framed costume glasses and an orange print skirt.

He fled on foot in a southwest direction from the bank.
