The woman killed in a weekend shooting in a south Kansas City neighborhood has been identified as Serenity Roby-Williams, 18, of Kansas City, police said Sunday.
Police responded to a reported shooting about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6900 block of East 114th Street.
Arriving officers found several people giving aid to the Roby-Williams who had been shot at least once.
She was rushed to an area hospital where she later died. Police were investigating her death as a homicide, but on Sunday said that was switched to a death investigation due to developments in the case. Police did not release what those new developments were.
