Triple shooting in Raytown leaves one dead, adult and child injured

A triple shooting left one adult dead and an adult and child injured Sunday morning at a home in Raytown, according to police.

The shooting was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. at a home in the 5700 block of Elm Avenue, according to the Raytown Police Department.

Arriving officers found three people shot inside the home. One adult was found dead. An adult and a child were injured, and were taken to a hospital. Police had no information about their condition Sunday morning.

The Police Department’s Investigations Unit was working at the shooting scene. No arrests have been made, police said.

The incident Sunday morning was the third fatal shooting in Raytown in just over a week. 

The previous Sunday, Sept. 30, three men died in what the Missouri Highway Patrol called a murder-suicide at a home in the 11000 block of East 74th Terrace. 

On Friday, a 17-year-old girl was found shot and killed at a home in the 5500 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard.
