Johnson County sheriff’s deputy charged in domestic violence case
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy has been placed on leave after his arrest for domestic violence charges.
Eliasa Tunai, 45, is charged in Johnson County District Court with domestic battery, criminal threat and criminal restraint.
He appeared in court on the charges Friday afternoon and was released from custody after posting a $2,500 bond. The charges stem from an off-duty incident Wednesday in Olathe.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said Tanui was placed on paid administrative leave.
