Authorities are investigating the Friday morning discovery of a body on a railroad car in Bonner Springs.
The body was found shortly after 5:30 a.m. Friday in the 12200 block of Kaw Drive.
Bonner Springs police said it is being called a death investigation. The person’s gender and cause of death has not been determined.
A police spokeswoman said the body was discovered by workers unloading a car containing a dry cement mix.
The car had been at the Bonner Springs location since Sept. 19, according to police. Prior to that it had been in Illinois and southeastern Missouri.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has dispatched its crime scene response team to assist police. And the FBI was also assisting with the investigation.
