Child suffers gunshot wound in Merriam
A child was rushed to Children’s Mercy Hospital with reported serious, non-life-threatening injuries with an apparent gunshot wound in a Merriam home Sunday.
A police spokesman confirmed the department was investigating a shooting that happened around 8:30 p.m. near 53rd Street.
It was unclear Sunday evening whether or not it was considered an accidental shooting.
