Triple shooting Wednesday in south Kansas City kills one, hospitalizes two others

One person was killed Wednesday evening in a triple shooting in south Kansas City.

The fatal victim was pronounced dead at the scene near 112th and Bridge Manor streets, according to Officer Jacob Becchina with Kansas City police.

Two others were hospitalized — one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting was preceded by a disturbance in the street.

“It appears at this time there was one shooter, and police have detained a person of interest in this shooting,” Becchina said. “Detectives are not actively searching for additional suspects.”

Any witnesses are asked to call the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-8477 or the Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043.
