Oregonian who sought sex with two KC girls pleads guilty

A 40-year-old Oregon man pleaded guilty Monday to traveling to Kansas City by bus to have sex with two girls.

Abdul Lamont Gamble had discussed his plans during online communications with an undercover Kansas City police detective posing as the parent of 11 and 15-year-old girls, according to court documents.

Gamble agreed to pay $250 to have sexual contact with the girls. When he arrived in Kansas City last April, the detective picked him up at the bus station and drove him to a predetermined location where other officers arrested him.

On Monday, Gamble pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Kansas City to traveling across state lines with the intent to engage in illicit sexual activity. The crime carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. A sentencing date will be set after a pre-sentencing report is completed.
