A shooting Thursday night in the Northland killed one, Kansas City police said in a release.

Officers were called to the 8000 block of N. Thomas Meyers Drive at about 8 p.m. and found a male victim dead in an apartment building.

Witnesses told police they saw multiple men flee the scene, possibly leaping from a second-floor window. Police said it was unclear if the men were suspects or witnesses to the shooting.

The men fled in two different vehicles in an unknown direction, police said.

The Belmont Apartments are located in the area.
