Wyandotte County authorities are asking for the public’s help to find a man who escaped from police custody on Tuesday.

Ted W. Taylor, 29, was being held in the county jail on charges of criminal discharge of a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He escaped after being checked out of the jail on Tuesday by Kansas City, Kan., police who were investigating an unrelated case.

Authorities did not say how Taylor got away, but he now faces a new charge of escape from custody, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office.

Taylor should be considered dangerous. Authorities ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 911, the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477, or police and sheriff’s office dispatchers at 913-596-3000.
