KC men convicted in scheme involving drug trafficking, murder for hire
A Kansas City federal jury convicted two men Wednesday for participating in a drug-trafficking conspiracy.
Andre Taylor, 48, of Kansas City, conspired to distribute large amounts of marijuana and cocaine between 2010 and 2014, jurors concluded.
Taylor also was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder for hire in the unsuccessful plot to kill a man whom he believed had stolen $500,000 and more than 26 pounds of cocaine from a downtown apartment.
Taylor had boasted, according to prosecutors, that he personally $20 million back to Mexico for drugs he transported to Kansas City.
Jurors also convicted Victor Vickers, 29, also of Kansas City, of conspiring to distribute less than 200 pounds of marijuana.
