Kansas City policeman shoots at vehicle that lunged toward him
A Kansas City police officer fired his weapon Thursday night after the subject of a chase accelerated a vehicle toward him, police said. There were no injuries.
The 7:30 p.m. incident began in Kansas City, Kan., with a report of a stabbing in the 800 block of North 70th Street. A victim of the stabbing was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Kansas City, Kan., police pursued the suspects into Missouri, where the vehicle being chased struck a Kansas City police car at 30th Street and Indiana Avenue. That officer was not injured.
The chase continued to a grassy area near 47th Street and Prospect Avenue, where the alleged attempted assault and gunfire occurred, police said. Two men and two women surrendered and were arrested.
