Three KC men among defendants in alleged meth conspiracy
Three Kansas City men are among 11 defendants indicted in federal court for conspiracy to distribute nearly $500,000 in methamphetamine over a five-year period.
Mike Kamal Ahmad, also known as “Viper Mike,” and Carey Michael Vannostran, both 39, and Patrick Thomas Baker, 50, all of Kansas City, were among those charged in the case announced Wednesday by federal prosecutors. Several Iowa residents and people who live in St. Joseph, Maryville and Fordland, Mo., also were charged.
Prosecutors allege that the defendants distributed at least 10 kilograms of the drug.
The indictment was filed under seal on April 15 but was made public after the arrests and court appearances of the defendants.
