Grain Valley boy accidentally shoots another boy while checking out gun
A 4-year-old boy sustained a non-life threatening injury after he was accidentally shot Thursday by a 6-year-old boy while the two played with a loaded handgun, according to Grain Valley police.
Officers were called to the home in the 900 block of Dogwood Drive at about 7:30 p.m. on a reported shooting.
The wounded child was taken to a hospital. It appeared the boys either handled or played with the weapon when it accidentally fired.
Detectives continued their investigation of the shooting on Friday, the police department said on its Facebook page.
No other details were released.
