Lenexa police are seeking a man who eluded law enforcement last week after an alleged carjacking and several hit-and-run accidents.

Police are asking help finding Raymond Anthony Cornejo Jr., 37, described as a white male, 6-foot-2, weighing 230 pounds.

A swarm of police vehicles flooded the neighborhoods around 93rd Street between Lackman and Pflumm roads late Wednesday afternoon after a man fleeing police in a white SUV that police say was carjacked crashed in the 9300 block of Lackman and fled on foot.

Police had first encountered the man in another vehicle in the 8500 block of Quivira Road, reportedly passed out behind the wheel. But he sped away when police arrived, crashing into several vehicles around 87th and Quivira.

Officers from the Overland Park, Shawnee and Kansas City police departments and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and Johnson County Park Police joined in the unsuccessful attempt to find the man Wednesday night.

A warrant has been issued for Cornejo’s arrest, with a bond of $100,000. Police warned that Cornejo should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477), or the Lenexa Police Department at 913-825-8101.
