Pedestrian is killed in hit-and-run accident in south Kansas City

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by vehicle in a hit-and-run accident on Holmes Road, just south of Kenneth Road in south Kansas City.

The name of the victim has not been released. Officers responded to the incident around 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

A passing motorist noticed the body just off the roadway. Investigators determined that the vehicle was northbound on Holmes Road when it struck the victim, knocking him onto the right side of the road. The driver drove away.

Police have not said when the hit-and-run occurred.
