KC police increase security after someone threatens Mayor Sly James
Kansas City police have increased their security detail around Mayor Sly James after the mayor received a threatening communication on Sunday.
The threat came in through James’ campaign website, police said. The mayor is seeking re-election.
“As a precaution we have added to the current security detail we already provide for our mayor,” a police spokesman said in an email to The Star on Monday.
Detectives are investigating, according to police.
