A deadly fire that swept through a northeast Kansas City, Kan., home and killed three people early Tuesday is now an homicide investigation, police said.

Firefighters found two of the victims dead about 3:20 a.m. after responding to a house fire in the 800 block of Troup Avenue.

Police later confirmed a third body had been found in the single-story, wood frame home.

Officials announced the homicide investigating via Twitter, one day after labeling the fire suspicious.

Police did not identify the victims but family members believe one of them was 53-year-old Gwinn Green.

An autopsy will determine how the victims died and help investigators positively identify them.
