A Grandview man pleaded guilty Wednesday to illegally selling and transporting several dozen explosive devices.

Robert A. Vik, 63, who is also listed on the Missouri sex offender registry, pleaded guilty to the explosives charges in U.S. District Court in Kansas City.

The devices involved in the case were fused six-inch long cardboard tubes containing explosive powder.

On two occasions in October, Vik sold a total of 15 of the devices to an undercover agent for the U.S.. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

He was arrested in November after bringing 27 more devices to a meeting with the agent.

Vik is listed on the Missouri sex offender registry for a prior conviction of transporting a minor across state lines for prostitution.
