Carjack fail: Getaway ends two blocks later with crash into building

The getaway in an attempted carjacking made it about two blocks before smashing into a building in Kansas City Sunday night.

The vehicle was taken around 24th and Quincy Street around 6:30 p.m., police reported. The driver attempted to flee police when they encountered the vehicle at 22nd and Quincy, but it crashed into a building in the 5100 block of 24th Street.

One person was arrested at the scene and complained of injuries, though no injuries were visible. He was transported to a hospital. Two other people fled into a nearby apartment building, but soon surrendered to police without incident.
