Raytown disturbance leads to shooting

Raytown police are investigating a shooting that grew out of a disturbance Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to reports of an incident involving a gun around 5:30 p. m. in the 8600 block of Stark Avenue. Officers found that a woman had been shot in the hip.

Her injuries were not life threatening and she refused to be taken to a hospital, police said. Raytown paramedics examined her injury.

Police said the other person involved in the disturbance was not at the scene but was identified and detectives are investigating.
