Fleeing suspect rams KC police car, two other vehicles

A Kansas City police officer sustained minor injuries Wednesday night when a car he pulled over rammed his patrol car.

The incident began just before 6 p.m. when an off-duty police officer spotted a shooting suspect driving in the area of 29th Street and Bruce R. Watkins Drive.

A uniformed officer pulled the vehicle over, but as the officer got out of his patrol car, the suspect put his car into reverse and rammed the police car. The suspect then drove into oncoming traffic.

He struck two other vehicles, causing minor injuries to their occupants, before wrecking near 28th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard, where police arrested him.
