Her phone broke while she ran from police. Now she wants them to buy her a new one
An alleged car thief who tried to run from Lenexa police was not happy that her cellphone got broken during the chase.
Police said that on Monday an officer spotted a car that had been reported stolen in Kansas City. When he pulled the vehicle over, its five occupants all jumped out and started running.
Officers managed to catch all five — the 18-year-old woman who was allegedly driving and four juveniles.
At some point during the chase, the woman’s phone was broken.
“What are you going to do about my broken phone?” she reportedly asked.
Police posted their response in a tweet Wednesday: “Uh, that’s on you.”
