Attempted murder charged in Overland Park road rage shooting
Editor’s note: A Johnson County jury found Jonathan K. Cullen Jr. not guilty on both counts of attempted second-degree murder and discharge of a firearm into an occupied motor vehicle, according to Johnson County District Court documents. His case and arrest record has since been expunged, according to Cullen and his attorney, Zach Thomas. A spokeswoman for the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office said they were unable to comment about the case.
A Kansas City man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder for allegedly shooting another man in a road rage incident in Overland Park.
Jonathan K. Cullen Jr., 34, was charged Saturday in Johnson County District Court.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon in the area of 133rd Street and Hemlock streets.
Overland Park police said that two motorists were involved in a road rage altercation and one man was shot twice. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He remained hospitalized Saturday.
Cullen is being held in the Johnson County Jail. His bond is set at $250,000.
