Shots fired, woman badly beaten in Shawnee incident
Shawnee police called to a report of shots fired late Thursday night found a badly beaten woman in the street.
Officers were called about 11:15 p.m. Thursday to the 5200 block of Barton Drive after someone called to say shots had been fired and a woman was down in the street.
Arriving officers found the woman, who had not been shot. She had been badly beaten, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Witnesses said that shots had been fired, but police could find no property damage or injuries as a result of the gunfire.
A suspect or suspects in the incident may have left the area in a dark brown Honda Civic.
