Independence shooting victim identified; second suspect in custody
Independence police said that a second suspect is in custody in a shooting that killed a 46-year-old man and wounded a second person.
Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Elud Hernandez of Independence. The wounded woman remained hospitalized Wednesday.
The shooting occurred Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Peck Court.
One suspect was taken into custody a short time later. Numerous officers were involved in searching for a second suspect.
On Wednesday morning, police said that person was now in custody.
Detectives are continuing to investigate and no charges have been announced.
